Riccardo Staglianò gave a short statement on the relevance of this Media Cross Production Session held in Reggio Emilia and were he gave an introduction to the subject of Media & DIversity and follow the works for 3 days. But also since the recent events regarding the Roma community in Turin and the hate crime in Florence, he spoke about the media confronted with such events.
Riccardo Staglianò is a reporter at Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
Born in Viareggio, he has been writing for another Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera about new technologies; he is co-founder of the on-line cultural magazine Caffè Europa. In New York he has been correspondent for the monthly magazine Reset.
He has been teaching in the last four years Theory and technology of the new media and Online Journalism (Giornalismo On line) in the Third University of Rome.
He recently published the book named “THANKS. Why we’ll be lost without immigrats.” (Grazie. Ecco perché senza gli immigrati saremmo perduti.)
